Mother's Day Flowers

Mother. Mum. Ma. However you refer to you know who, there’s one day of the year when it’s pretty much essential to send her a gift. And if you can’t be there in person to give her a big hug, a kiss and a present, then sending her flowers for Mother’s Day is the next best thing.

Of course, you’ll want to do all you can to get to see her, but whether it’s work or family commitments that keep you apart, or the sheer distance between where you live, you can still show her how much you love her with a beautiful bloom through the letterbox. And you can include a card with the flowers you send to add a personal message that will leave your mum in no doubt you’re thinking about her on a day that’s all about her.

If you need help deciding which flowers are best for this springtime appreciation for the maternal love and affection you’ve received since you were too young to remember receiving it, here’s some:

Carnations are known for being the traditional Mother’s Day flower. They’re believed to have been sent by the founder of the occasion on the very first Mother’s Day back in 1908. Carnations signify not only motherhood but beauty and eternity, making them the perfect choice for a child to send to their beautiful mother whose love for her children is eternal.

Roses are another popular choice to send on Mother’s Day, being the universal symbol of love, but really you should focus on sending your mum the flowers she likes most. Her arrangement of choice could feature carnations, roses, maybe something else entirely. You could choose to send her a bunch of flowers in her favourite colours, or an arrangement that will give off a scent she loves.

Just make sure the flowers get there on time (we can help thanks to our next day delivery service) and don’t forget to give her a phone call on the day!
